Why I do what I do

" My pursuit towards wellness, fulfillment, and purpose came from my own physical, mental and emotional collapse."

Finding Myself

I swapped a comfortable corporate job in management consulting for a quest to find real purpose when I left Spain to become a humanitarian aid and development worker.

What started as a short-term commitment turned into 15 years with some of the world’s leading aid organizations (ACF, ICRC, WFP, UNICEF, UN), where I helped millions affected by natural and man-made disasters.

During this time, I truly found meaning and purpose. I learned lessons that no classroom could ever teach me—experiencing all sides of humanity: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

While this journey was life-changing, I missed the most crucial lesson of all: the importance of taking care of myself before I could help others.

Hitting rock bottom

We're often experts at ignoring the signs and warnings life gives us.

I ignored my body’s signals so badly that I ended up bedridden with two herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, chronic inflammation, IBS, and PTSD from a series of near-death experiences.

This took a huge toll on my physical and mental health, not to mention my self-esteem and sense of direction.

What hurts the most is that I saw my burnout coming but convinced myself I could push through. I thought my body would keep going—until it couldn't anymore.

Reconstructing Myself

Our medical system is excellent at handling acute crises and keeping us alive, but it often falls short when it comes to preventing disease.

After months of physical therapy, I found some relief, but as soon as I returned to normal activities, the spasms and pain came rushing back. The solution my doctors offered? More rest, more painkillers, more muscle relaxants.

Is that really all you've got?

Pain can be one of the strongest motivators, and I realized I had to take control of my healing journey.

I dove into research, experimenting with alternative medicine, functional nutrition, supplements, optimal hydration, sleep, daily yoga, and meditation.

A year later, I was 90% pain-free.
