Men's Spring Meetup
Breathwork & Meditation
Video Recordings - March 2026
The Men's Spring Meetup: Breathwork & Meditation is a recurring Saturday online gathering hosted by Coach David Ito that brings men together for guided breathwork and meditation practice.
Each session builds nervous system regulation skills — from somatic awareness and breath holds to visualization and silent meditation — in a supportive community setting.
March 7, 2026
Breathwork, mindfulness meditation, and somatic body awareness, guiding participants through three breathing techniques — deep nasal breathing with extended exhales, box breathing, and a silent 7-minute meditation — to activate the vagus nerve and recalibrate the nervous system.
The session closed with a self-compassion practice involving a "self-hug" and a collective group gaze, building connection and emotional presence among the men in the circle.

We deepened the breathwork practice by introducing breath holds, guiding participants through a 4-4-4 box breath and a progressively lengthened 4-4-8 pattern, with a detailed explanation of how breath holds stimulate the vagus nerve to shift the body from fight-or-flight into rest-and-digest mode.
The session then moved into a guided visualization meditation — a first for the group — where participants were led to imagine and spread a golden light from their belly through the entire body, reconnecting mind, body, and spirit.

This session built on previous weeks with a progressive breathwork sequence — deep nasal breathing, lengthened exhales, and a hold at the top — framed around the idea that breathwork is a nervous system reset toward homeostasis.
The meditation introduced a three-round hands-on visualization practice, placing warmed hands on different body parts while imagining golden light flowing inward, followed by five minutes of silent meditation..

This session built on previous weeks with a breathwork sequence progressing from deep nasal breathing to lengthened exhales and then a 3-4-6 inhale-hold-exhale pattern, reinforcing the concept of homeostasis — that breathwork is a nervous system reset rather than a fixed goal — and noting how oxygen and improved circulation explain the post-breathwork warmth participants feel.
The meditation portion introduced a hands-on healing visualization practice done in three rounds, where participants rubbed their hands to generate heat and placed them on different body parts while visualizing golden light transferring into those areas, followed by a five-minute silent meditation to close.
